The Christmas Fox III

THE RETURN OF THE CHRISTMAS FOX!
Between the Lines
Linda Leatherbarrow

We’ve been so busy over the past three years establishing the Slightly Foxed Editions that we took a break from our other popular publishing venture, our paperbound series of Christmas Foxes – little pieces of original writing which stand beautifully on their own as small presents or elegant substitutes for a card.

But this year something came our way that we couldn’t resist – Linda Leatherbarrow’s short story Between the Lines featuring Rose, a recently retired museum curator, her landlord Mr Aldridge, Mr Aldridge’s cat Izzy, and the changes wrought in all their lives when Rose, on impulse, acquires some old wooden type and Mr Aldridge begins reliving his past in the print business.

Its author Linda Leatherbarrow, one of our regular contributors, is a distinguished short-story writer whose work has been published in many magazines and anthologies and won many awards. Her take on life is quirky, her voice humorous, and her penetrating eye misses no detail, as is evident in this new story. We loved it and believe you – or indeed any bookish friend or relative will do too.
